Basic Plot

The mean-spirited Grinch sits perched high up on a mountain top that overlooks Whoville.  From the valley below, a soft, joyous chorus of Who voices singing to celebrate Christmas rises in the air.  The Whos LOVE Christmas.  Beneath every tree is an abundance of ribboned presents and there's a trimmed wreath on every door.  But the Grinch HATES Christmas one thousand times more.  He hates the wreaths, he hates the bows, he even hates the Whos down below.  In order to squelch their holiday spirit, he designs a diabolical plan to steal all of the superficial makings of their Christmas.  But in the end, he learns that the true spirit of Christmas can't be packaged or put in a shopping cart...the true spirit of Christmas can only be found in the heart.   

Review

The delicious tongue-twisting verse of Dr. Seuss makes this lighthearted animation fun for children of all ages.  It has been a part of our holiday celebration ever since it debuted on television.  The Whos are quirky but delightful and the Grinch is a juicy villain.  This one is a true classic.
