Basic Plot
If you've heard the song, you know the story. Rudolph was born with an...unusual nose, "some would even say it glows". His difference makes him the target of jokes and he is shunned by the other reindeer. So he leaves home and those who love him behind as he becomes "In-de-pen-dent". When he finally returns, the worst blizzard of all time hits the North Pole village, causing Santa to cancel Christmas.

Review
This is an absolute classic! The story is sweet, adventurous, scary and full of imagination. The endearing characters have heartwarming qualities that are great examples for the very young. In this world created by the Rankin crew, everyone has a place and a way to be made useful. Accented by the distinctive voice of Burl Ives, this animation will always be a part of our Christmas tradition.
