Basic Plot

Whoville exists within a snowflake.  All residents LOVE Christmas and joyously prepare for its arrival.  But a former resident, the Grinch, watches from the snowy cliffs above the merriment.  He hates the Whos' cheer and he hates Christmas.  So he plots to steal every holiday trimming, gift, and crumb of holiday food from them all and then watch sadness replace their joy.   

Review

We're always looking for a new Christmas movie to add to our collection.  So, after viewing the trailers on t.v. and considering how much we love the original How the Grinch Stole Christmas animation, we couldn't resist buying this one.  We should have resisted.  It's not a bad movie...it just takes some time to grow on you.  The faces of Whoville are very rat-like and not a pleasure to watch.  Plus, some of the Grinch's antics are, in my opinion, not good for children to see (ie. eating toxic garbage and glass).  Unlike many of our holiday movies that we watch over and over, this is one we seldom watch...only on our weird days.  However, if you're a zealous Jim Carrey fan, we're sure you'll love it!
